I'm running a stock '98 Road King. I would like to install the new slim line fuel gauge that Harley offers but they only fit on 2001 up models. I checked the difference and it seems the only variance is the wiring. My bike has a black and orange wire coming out of the tank and the new gauge has a yellow/white wire that the instuctions show to feed through the tank and hook up to the bikes harness.
My question....would this gauge work on my bike if I was to install a fuel sending unit from a 2001 RK?

    ANY information would be great!

    Thanx

if you look at the wiring diagram in your service manual, then check it against one for a 01 that should answer your question.......hopefully someone will chime in on this...
