Hey from Afghanistan

    Woke up at 0400 this morning...tried going back to sleep for 2 hours....then caved in and got up....went to office and turned on the Packers game and called the family. Had a GREAT talk with my daughter and wife...then called my buddy who lives in Atlanta....and gave him crap about the Falcons (my packers won big time!) Had a low key type of day otherwise....getting ready for bed now. Will be going and teaching (doing clinical rotations) in the hospital again tomorrow with my students. Should be good. Am now 1/2 way (or just a bit more) done with my deployment. Can't WAIT to get home.....6 month deployment, but gone for over 2 months for training.....think total time away from home will be close to 9 months...within days of it.... Have gotten my wife 3 Afghan rugs, all have made it home...sent a foot locker load of stuff home, that has made it.....in another 2 months, will send 2 more lockers home. don't plan on carrying much through airports!!! Wife is saying that we now have a cat....??!! Also says she got a second horse trailer...?? No CLUE as to the details (how she paid for it, what it looks like, etc!). Daughter is doing well in school and 4-H....learning how to Jump horses now....well, ok, learning balance so she doesn't fall off when the horse starts jumping the bigger jumps. She is doing well with her horsemanship. Hope everyone has a great day!

    Glad things are good with you. cold here, rode some yesterday, about 100 miles round trip. Heated gear sure makes a difference.
