    Isn't Clovis near Raton? I'm trying to find a place that'll be warm enough to camp out for about a week. I was gonna go to Moab, but they're showing mid-forties at night for the next few days. I was thinking New Mexico might be a better bet. Wouldn't have to go over Vail Pass either.

    Depends on what you consider "near". Its 200 miles south and seven miles from West Texas state line. You can go about 45 miles south of Raton to Springer it’s at a lower elevation on the flat lands but still has day ride access to some good riding.
