Well I went to the Lonestar Rally
    Went to leave no headlight.
Made it back on running lights.
Went today to Bikers Choice setup at the rally
Bought a Kuryakyn phase 7 LED headlight & installed it so I can make the rally tonite
And make it 125 miles home

Yes they are, but for me to buy the headlight and running light, I think its like 700.00 or more.

They guys that got them on the new bikes said they priced them.
And if they go out for some unknown reason.
They will not spend the money to replace them.
They will get something different that don't cost as much.

First time I used my 2014 SE at night I thought WTF the light was pointing down and there was a dark line across the road so had to put em back on low beam so the spots would help light up the road. Got home and found that the head light was adjusted way to low. Now the head light really lights up the road. I really like the LED on it now.

Charlie and I have been running that led headlight. In fact if ya look back on the threads you'll find the one where you were saying how good your headlight was and it better than led.

The HID I had was really , really bright. And didn't cost no where near what this did. And I got it about 3 plus years ago.

Think things has changed since then.

Don't know why something so simply cost so much.
    Got to pay for technology.

Glad I can save the money and pay for what I need.,
Couldn't never imaging going back in time.
Was I used the stuff they had back then. Bearly made it threw that time.
The new bikes and lights are so much nicer.
The LED is so brite for somebody my age to help see a lot better.
Its going from yellow light to white light.
Go buy a soft white light bulb for yer house.
Buy a LED daylight bulb. Put it in the bathroom or wherever.
See how long you look at the cheap yellow light.
And LED are vibration resistance compared to Older bulbs also.
And for the other people to see me.
And it draws a fraction of juice from yer battery compared to the sealed beam.

You can get some expensive bulbs to go in yer sealed beam.
    They don't last long oh.

Guess a guy has to do what a guy can afford oh.
My OL who will be a senior next year 55, has a good job and it gives me the ability to get out of a bind.
Been leaning on her more and more lately.

O.K. I'm off the soap box already.

Did you hear anything I said or did you turn me off.

Good info CB. I've said it before and in today's world and finances many times it takes both the husband and wife working to make it anymore.

Nothing wrong with getting on the soap box once in awhile.

I'd give it a "like" because I agree with you, but I don't like it at all. It's true, but I don't have to like it. I wish my wife could stay home and raise my child as I was, but that world is dead and gone for most wage slaves today. Too much necessity and desire for too many products and not enough coin for the hours spent is the golden rule of this life.:(
    Wow, getting off topic.

HID's were very expensive at one time, if you tried to put them on a bike
or car as a replacement when they first came out they cost double what a new LED does today.

Now you can buy HID stuff fairly inexpensive since it's widely used and now old tech.

LED is the way to go, low power draw, very little chance of bulb breaking. and much brighter whiter light that can be focused.

Josh, as we get older the eyes ability to see the difference in dark and light
reduces greatly, JMO a few bucs is worth it to see any "bucks" in the road.

A week in the hospital can cost more than an LED ..

I was only complaining about the price, fellas, not the technology. I think the brighter lights are great. but I rarely ride when it's dark. I've had the same sealed beam 4 years now and of course, we must ride with our lights on all the time. Since I only run one light up front, maybe I should look into buying an LED headlight.

Steve and I paid $ 200 for the truck lite-7 about a year ago searching through E-Bay. Less than half the MSRP. EXCELENT light, about equal to the stock LEDs on my '14 Ultra.
