Well, the day has arrived. At the cotton festival this year, the Hobgood Academy will be having it's "fall festival" alongside the other festivities. Yers truly will be performing a handful of songs on the resonator guitar and harmonica. I play with a steel slide sitting down with the ax on my lap. There will be other performers as well and a country rock band. It is a damp, dreary day and it may rain later, but for now, it's under way. At least it's not cold. I'll try and get some pictures posted.

Have a good time Josh, sounds like fun and wished I could listen in on the music. Sense the rain has quit and will be nice for a week me and Old Bill along with a couple others will travel the back roads to Newport on the coast tomorrow. Still wished I could listen in on the music, sounds fun. :)

It drizzled the whole time, sometimes breaking out in a light rain. Still, we had a small crowd of die hards, umbrellas and all. Yup, the music was really good. Our academy has a choir made up of kindergarteners thru 4th grade and they were the highlight of the festivities (as far as I was concerned).

They even shot off a few fireworks at the end. In my usual state of forgetfulness, I didn't bring my camera. Doh!

Marc, hope you & the boys have a great ride today. I think we're gonna be socked in with rain till the middle of the week.
