Haven't been here in a while, boys, except for a post yesterday. Seems our little private country school is going to go charter, which means I'll be without a job when that happens, as I am not a certified teacher. Ah well, I should have retired years ago. They are saying the process may take up to two years, so I have a little wiggle room to think of other options . . .

. . . like trying to get an agent interested in my novella, but so far no luck there. It's like trying to break into a bank vault with a pair of tweezers. I may restart my painting "career", and as long as I can still lug my sound equipment around, my music "career" also. None look very promising, but I will be able to suppliment my meager income a bit here and there. I suppose that what I'm saying is that I'll never really retire . . .

Dang, boys, it's gonna reach the low 70s today - amazing for February - and I hope to get in a putt before the rain gets here late this afternoon. The ol' shovel has a very pesky main seal leak that I have tried to repair numerous times and it still sometimes grinds a little when trying to engage 1st from a standstill. But I can ride it and ride it I will.

Thanks HRK. It does appear that self publishing is the way to go and I will look into it in more detail.

As soon as I got off work yesterday it began to rain, so no ride. Switched on the TV and just as I got toward the end of "Contraband", the rain turned nasty and I lost the picture and sound. When things go south I head west to the kitchen. Fixed up some home made biscuits and had leftover turkey hash over them. Oh yeah . . .

Last night the Hobgood Players had practice for our upcoming Valentine's Day show. After practice, I hopped in the truck to go home and got stuck in the mud. Fortunately, one guy was still in the parking area so we went and got a strap to pull me out. It was still raining pretty hard, but we finally got it hooked up and he yanked me out of the ditch, no problem. It was a great end to a soggy day!

Sorry about the charter news but hey, like you said, you got a couple year window. And at some point shouldn't you consider retiring? Smell the roses, travel with the missus? Come to New Hampshire and visit, lol?

And what HRK said about self publishing. I was thinking that too when i was reading your first post. Had a friend who was a avid fisherman and wanted to publish a book about his knowledge. He did. He selfpublished and it sold well. Here it is: http://www.amazon.com/Fish-John-Mar...4600117&sr=8-1&keywords=John marshall fishing

Nice to hear from you. If we are lucky riding the scooter or working a 9-5 is an option. I am self employed and every AM call my boss an azz butt. J/B hope that your talents as a musician will help you. Shitz load of wet snow in the area Tues.

It's warmed up this weekend - mid to high 60s, but no ride as I must figure out how to fix my transmission. I'm starting a new thread in the tech section about it to try and get some feedback.

In other news in the Gazette today, I'll be pickin' an' grimacin' at Tattoo's birthday bash in his yard this afternoon. Should be a good time for all. BBQ chicken, with all the trimmings and liberal amounts of libations. Since I have to drive 25 miles each way, I will keep my alcohol consumption to a mere beer and lots of water.;)
