HOG: Take IIII

There has been some interesting things happening here in the JohnnyBiker world lately. Some may recall that I used to be a member of a HOG Chapter. I had decided to let my club membership lapse because I had issues with the sponsoring dealership. However, I did manage to make some friends from the chapter. Recently I have been toying with the idea of rejoining the chapter but couldn't decide. One day I called up a friend from the chapter and he had told me that the GM of the supporting dealership had been fired. That was enough for me to instantaneously commit to rejoin that chapter. I am looking forward to getting back on the road with my friends from the chapter.

Yep, and now with all of the other changes that just occurred I am even more stoked to rejoin.

it used to be that way here a bunch of years ago. Not sure what it's like now. I'm sure it's better

I would join but everything they do in this area is in Dallas and there is no way I'm going into that hell hole.

Yep same here even though it's now a club and no longer a chapter. Drinking only good at end of days riding.

Good deal here as well, chapter has some guys can really ride the mountains. Rides well planned, they are serious about being safe. No drinking on ride. When ride is over RC says ride officially over, then members are on their own. Dealership pretty solid, good GM.

It will be a long time before I will commit to that dealership. Hopefully it turns around. I guess the new GM is out of Scottsdale.

Stupid question, but likely the place to get the most honest answer. I know HOG is the "Harley Owners Group", but what does it do? I've never really heard much about it up here.

Anybody know the difference between full and associate membership? And how much per year? Went to the website, it did not say, just asked for personal info. I found an event a couple hours away in my province this summer, and the Old Orchard Beach meet in Maine is only a days ride away.

Associate is meant for a family member

Ok, so I won't need to worry about that, wife and bike don't get along. 'Course if she gets a discount in the clothing section she might be in, likes their boots and steals my hoodies.

JohnnyBiker, is so looking forward to rejoining that is for sure. I just had a life changing event occur that will make it even easier for me to participate. Hopefully with this new GM the dealership will turn into what I think a dealership should be. Or at way more inviting than what is was.

Finally I rejoined the chapter and I gave to miss one of the better rides of the season. Oh well, because of yet another promotion, I now have more time to get things caught up on that I have neglected for a couple of years. Oh well, I guess that is how the ball bounces.

. . . or the cookie crumbles. I ride too slow and have to stop for gas a lot so a club is not in my future.
