Yeah HD likes money that's for sure. Awhile ago (last riding season) I priced out a set of heat shields for my pipes through JP and they wanted like 200 bucks per shield. I said that is stupid. The salesman replies, (Well, harley gets like 150) I told him that he wasn't making a sale today.......Some of things HD is just way out of line for...This is a good example....

its the price of new technology, you want to be on the leading edge you get the bill...

Used to be a grand for HID, now a couple of hundred...

Kuryakyn sells one too, and the passing lamps, the bulb is made by Truck Lite and you can get one for $300 for the 7 inch and they are very very very bright...

If you have only one headlight I'd opt for this over chrome or cams...

Truck-Lite 7? Round LED Headlamp Upgrade

The Kuryakyn stuff is about the same price, if you call www.harleypartscheap.com Phil he should be able to get you a discount on the lights from Kuryakyn, tell him I sent you

    Hey there,

I went with the dual bulb Halogen headlight which is a lot cheaper. Works great, both bulbs are on when high beam is selected. It is very bright and lights up things far away very well.
I have a 2010 car with LED headlights, and while they are acceptable, they disappoint.:gah:

If you look for yer softail hD has a SE dual bulb headlight kit #67700033
Shop for Parts & Accessories | Harley-Davidson USA

You can go to Zanotti's and git a 20% discount.
It comes with the wiring harness and everything.
Its a dual bulb and has a better reflector. One bulb for low and one bulb for high

Then you can go to xenonbargains.

And git a kit for a dual bulb with both bulbs being a H9 bulb for like 119.00
you want the 35K at 6000 watt.
This draws very little juice and puts out light near blue.
I've got it on my bike and my buddy who started this has it on his bike.
    I really like it.

It comes with a lifetime warranty.

you should have like 274.00 in the whole thing.

I had the HD dual bulb on my Softail
not worth the money, the pattern is
    bad even with silverstars.

YOu'd be better off with a good reflector
and a silverstar bulb than the dual.

We converted a dual to a HID low beam on buddies
CVO Ultra and it really works well with the dual bulb
lens from HD, lights up the road better and it's what
    came in HD's HID kit.

The LED from HD works very well, as does Kuryakyns,
Kuryakyn is a TruckLite LED bulb so call phil and he can
get you a deal, I've seen the LED's on bikes in daytona very bright
