Well, I have now been in the USA for 2 days.....San Antonio is D*MN HOT....left Germany with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s.....first nite here, arrive around 9pm....still 98 degrees! yesterday at 8pm was STILL 105. Today, not a clue, think it was around 100 and I spent the entire day at Sea World with the family. Bike ended up in a crate last friday afternoon, so sometime in the next 3-8 weeks I should have a "HOPEFULLY" intact ride....have to see what the crate spits out! Not sure if I will make the labor day ride..... have the wife's family talking about a trip down, plus school dates still unknown as to days off (if any). Maybe something next year..... well, off to unpack more boxes!! Mail guy delivered 5 boxes today.....only have 3 more in the system....plus the honey do list that includes cleaning out the garage of the REST of the boxes...... have to do that before there is enuf space for the bike!! would also like to get the car in, but that is secondary for me!!! Let me know if you are in the SA area!! Always looking for a good excuse for a ride schedule permitting (and after the bike gets here!)! :D

Bwaaa, ha, ha! Welcome to Texas in the summer, dude! One consolation, unlike Aridzona, it's a "wet" heat, er, is that a bad thing? :D Remember, though, in January you'll be riding. Sleepy will have to use skies to get to work. :D But, you'll acclimate, maybe. I've been working out in it, in the shade. But, around 4:30 it starts to get unbarable and I have to knock off.

Well, if your bike's going to be 8 weeks getting here, it'll start to cool of by the time we can maybe make a fall ride in the hills. Right now, it's survival out there. On the wing, I'll be wearing my summer jacket (it's cooler wearing it than being exposed to the hot air and sun) and I'll have a bottle of water in the bar bouy. I don't drink much of it, use it to dump on my jacket. LOL That summer I headed up to Sturgis to meet up with the gang up there, it was over 100 every day. From here to Waco, I'd have to stop every 50 miles and grab some water. I was on my old VX800, no bar bouy, and it was MISERABLE, like riding in a friggin' blast furnace. I took my helmet off, thought it'd be cooler. WRONG! That just let the hot air hit my face directly! CHRIST, that's no fun. About Oklahoma City on that trip I hit cool air, a little front. WOW, I did NOT wanna come back to Texas. Highs were in the low 80s, like a friggin' meat locker! LOL!

Glad to here you made it, keeping my fingers crossed on your ride arriving intact. tell the family I said hey and enjoy the sun. I can't wait to get bak to San Antonio, this rain and mud I gotta drive through is making a mess of my bike and Mustang.
    take care

I'm in Port Lavaca, on the coast. It's near Victoria, between Corpus and Houston, on the coastal bend. I have lavaca bay outside my front door across the street. Some people call it hurricane bait. :D
