Somebody on that site must have pulled down the video because all I could see was Japanese writing. Anyone know where this video might be?

Yah, I seen that too, I was just being sarcastic and expressing my freedom of choice on the helmet issue, no helmet in the world would have kept that guy from dieing.

Actually if you look very close at the end of the clip, just behind the truck you can see what appears to be his helmet as well. Guess I haven't ever seen a better need for the theme song I Fall To Pieces before.

Looks to me like the scooter driver was trying to decide which way to go and slowed too much on a heavy congestion high speed road, It looks like he was trying to determine if he should go to the left and didn't get out of his lane, that he was moving from, in time.

He braked, slowed and stayed in the lane.

The truck just assumed he was turning and barrelled on over him.

A good reason for more HP and a GPS I guess.

That was one big effin truck, he might have survived a dually but that thing just tore him apart especially as the wheels drug when the driver locked it up, if he'd kept rolling vs braking hard who knows, might have stayed in one piece.

    Very ugly indeed.

I don't care if that guy would've taken an hour to decide where he was going, that a**hole shouldn't have been so close behind him. People need to learn how to drive. Damn man, that is nasty.

For a truck to allow itself to come up so close to any other vehicle, it would have ruined any car driving like that anyway being in too much of a hurry to be careful. From the beginning of the video, the scooter looks like it does not have enough power to cruise in the lanes and was staying to the side until he knew that he needed to turn. The truck was just going around the scooter moving below standard speeds on the side of the road and truck either did not realize how slow the scooterest was going or the scooter slowed more. The scooter went from the right side of the right lane towards the middle lane with maybe no notice. The truck "may" be the victim here. Far as the motorcycle goes, you have to assume nobody sees you or some jerk may run you over and cut you in half like this.

Honestly, I smashed into a bicyclist that made a left turn from the right side on the road with no indication that he was going to turn. Maybe like this truck, I slowed, crept out of the lane to give the guy more room and :wtf: , the guy up and turns left, nothing I could do. I ended up locking the brakes as soon as I realized he was turning. In my case the bicycle was ruined, and the rider bruised. I agreed to pay for the bicycle if it goes away, just in case I would have somehow been at fault and my luck held, a special edition USPS $3000 road bike. Still better than something on the driving record.
I feel for the truck driver.
