Hot sauce

    1 7oz can tamoto sauce
    1 garlic clove minced
    1/2tsp oregano
    1 tbl white wine vinegar
    salt to taste
    12 to 15 Chile Tepins. Finely ground. Note; must be TEPIN chilies

    Mix every thing together. Bring to a low simmer in a pot, for five minutes. Cool then stor in refigerator. It gets better as it sits for a couple off days.

    How about adding a med fine minced onion to the mix? Should give it a extra edge.

    tepin chilies do pack a punch but this sauce isn't to hot. You can find them dried in the mexican section in a supermarket. Or at least in my area. I would also strain out some of the seeds. that will help keep the heat down as it sits.

    thanks, i guess i am a wimp, jalepenos are about my limit in the heat dept. i think i will try it with those, but, if i see some tepins,i will try them also.....can always feed it to the critters!!!!

    it appears there is a conflict in pepper hottness........dont matter to me....all them over 3k are too hot for me!!!!!!!!!
