EFI bikes idle speed is electronically controlled for two very good reasons
First, to maintain voltage for the system
Second, the new oiling system needs to have a faster idle to maintain pressure.

The idle speed is something that only digital technician at the dealership can change. The proper speed is 975 to 1050 and as HRK says, not much you can do about it. But a little bit of info about the loud pipe thing, I read an article about the noise police in Denver and the City Council passed a law that only limits motorcycle exhaust to pipes that have an executive order sticker for compliance to EPA standards for any motorcycle manufactured after 1982. What this means is anything other than the stock pipes are strictly verbotten. I bet their police cruisers can't pass the muster on this on
this one. I know the two fleets we take care of don't run stock mufflers or if they are they've had the plugs knocked out. I guess I'll never get to ride my bike in Denver! I don't like obnoxious type loud, but face facts, bikes have to have other than stock exhaust just to make them run.
