how much bottom end do you need

    a friend has a road king with 95 in flat top pistons 203 cams mikuni carb & ported heads he wants me to install a 4 degree advance timing gear to get better low end torque i told him i was not sure how it would effect cruising at high speeds any info appreciated

    Ran the +4 on my woods tw-6H cams it gets the motor on the cam quicker, it will pull HP back a bit but nothing to be worried about from that standpoint,

    It will increase cylinder pressure so he needs to be careful and listen for knock as it's the similar to more compression.
