    Hi there,
I'm thinking about pulling of my V&H Prop Pipe this winter and either going back to my stock headers or true duals with my Kromewerks touring lite slip ons. Wonder how much Tq & Hp I will loose?

    Build is 05FLHT
SE performance heads cleaned up a bit to get 10.3/1 comp
S&S 570G cams, Mik 42 carb, DTT ignition, SE flat tops = 102Tq & 98Hp I tried to attach the dyno file, not sure if I did it right, we'll see?

Bike runs great but I really liked how it looked & sounded with the duals...

Anyone have any feedback or thoughts will it be enough that I will be able to tell by the seat of my pants?

Your motor sounds like the famous Hippo-build. (From another forum I visit).
I’ll throw my two cent in, its just my opinion.
Yes, I think you will lose at least 5 Horsepower. Throw them true duds on and have it re- dyno’ed (if you an afford it), I’ll bet you a few cold ones that it will be around 90HP.
It will probably run better with the stock pipes on it than the TD’s.
I like to think I have a finely calibrated A$$, the little voices in my head try to tell me that even after I wash and/or change the oil that my cycle runs faster. My Dyno is the big black one, my seat of the pants has many twists of the wrists for the proper calibration of my cycle and I like to imagine that I can feel the slightest adjustments, so yes, I think one can easily will feel the difference of 5 or 10 HP.
What it really boils down to is, if you like the sound of the true duals, then by all means put them back on.
A man’s (or women’s) Harley is about personal preference, making your Harley your own. Who cares what the Jones's or Smith’s think about your bike. Getting the sound right (personal preference) is one of the first things people do to their Harley, so, do what makes you happy; that even goes for those dreaded drag-pipes. :D

To me it really don’t matter about the hp loess between exhaust systems….well it dose a little I guess…I want it to run good without skips and hiccups but would rather have the cool look and sound of the duels. It’s a sacrifice I am willing to make. I don’t race mine nor push it very hard although I do admit that some times I would like to go faster on the autobahn but without a windshield I can’t keep that up very long anyway. If it were me I would go with the duels. Just don’t like the look of 2 into 1, but that’s just me.

Sorry, sort of busy lately. KillerB has it right..I would stick with the Pro-pipe since you already have it on.

    Thanks CD!

I will take a few things apart this winter as I live in the greater central states where the winters are cold the taxes are high and you get to appreciate the seasonal changes.

The exhaust is just one of things that has to come off to get into the cam cover. As long as I have the time just want to take a look see & check some clearences etc... clean lifters and check pushrods and rockers as the build has about 7~8K on it.

Not sure if I will change anything like add roller rockers or maybe exhaust but Ya never know...? Like I said above, I like to tinker;) and keeps me from going crazy during the cabin fever months. Later...

    What should you run

Will if your looking for cool sound and good performance Thunder header is the way to go . I have a 95 FLHT with S&S carb hot ing- and a set of 1200 sportster heads that have been done up to fit my 1340 with a cam shaft to match . they are called Slinger heads they have been opened up for better flow and I run a Thunder header . The heads make great power better then alot of the top dogs . Air flow is important but big air flow numbers don't mean much on a heavy street bike .after all most of us never get more then 5500 to 6500 RPMs out of our baggers. And cyclinder fill is what we are looking for it makes power. The truth be know you can fool a motor to think its getting cyclinder fill . Biger is not always better when it comes to street bikes . More important every thing as to match and work good togather.

roller rocker not a good idea

Geometry on roller rockers are not right and Thats a fact. I have never seen a stock Harley rocker brake .And I have sean big cub inch bikes with all kinds of horse power run stock rockers. I think that roller rockers are a waste of good money . there are better thing yous can spend your money on to make good power . And as far as I am concern stock Harley Lifters are as good as any thing out there.
