So, after many thousands of miles of travel, I am now where I need to be.

Friday! It is the equivalent of America's Sunday.... this will probably be my slow day of the week for the next 6 months. I am almost fully in-processed. MOSTLY caught up on sleep, and still fighting the cold, however seems to be improving some. I got a ROOM! Not in a tent! Not sure how it was pulled off, but not asking questions. Food is ok.

My biggest challenge right now is to get used to the crappy mattress...debating on trying to find an egg crate foam or memory foam topper to help it be slightly better... Most of my stuff is now put away. I can get internet in my room, but... will cost 80$ per month.... OR I can walk 1/2 mile to the rec center and use free internet..... not sure on that one yet! My big reality check was when I was issued my full combat load of ammo..... 180 rounds for my M-4 Rifle and 45 rounds for my M-9 pistol. What a joy to carry around! Still waiting for work related computer accounts. won't be able to learn much of my job without them. Probably today or tomorrow I will have those AND my ID badge to get into the work area. My mission is NATO... will be working with a guy from France, Croatia, Germany, US Army, (those are what I know so far....maybe more!), in addition to the Afghan...... should be interesting! Also have been off the base (convoyed) x2 in bad guy land. So far (knock on wood) will continue to have smooth sailing!

    Have a great day!
