TexasRideStrong rode out from Dallas and I met him in Barstow Thursday to lead him into O.C. to our mutual Friend Zweibeemers House when he spent the night.
In the morning as they were preparing to ride up to my house they discovered that his back tire had gotten low crossing the Mojave and had unsafe wear. They had to locate and replace the tire before they could ride up my way.

Friday around noon TexasRideStrong/Bald and Zweibeemers arrived at our meeting place off the 101 and Zwei turned around for home and a bit of work he had scheduled.
TRS and I headed up the road a bit to fill his Valk. with fuel then up the highway we went. I set the pace art about 75 MPH and we had a pretty good run going stopping for fuel at every gas station along the way to refuel that Valk. ( Not really that bad but we did have to stop for fuel about every 100 miles).
Went pretty well until I failed to realize there was no fuel between Paso Robles and King City. I think by the time we made King City TRS actually put a little more gas in his tank that it officially holds.
Anyway we rode on through the day and hit SFO about 6:30 PM made our way though the city and across the bridge and rolled into the campground at Petaluma right at sundown.
Had a great time with so many friends, most I had met before and some that were first time F2F.
I took a few pictures although I was having some problems with my camera. But you can view the ones I did take at Picasa Web Albums - Tom just click on the WCGT2 album to start. Feel free to look at the other albums that are there
Sunday morning after packing my gear I joined the remaining Mofos for breakfast and decided I was gonna ride north a ways before heading back.
After bidding everyone good-by I headed out of Petaluma on a side road and out through what was new territory for me. I expected to ride until I hit the coast then turn south. Which is what I did. Unfortunately, I missed a turn and only got as far north as Bodega Bay when I found myself on Highway 1 but I turned south anyway. I love the North coast and Pacific Coast Highway is the best road in Ca. to ride if you really love the scenery and of course the Pacific.
I rode through the little coast towns and along the cliffs and enjoyed every inch of it. I just wish I could have covered that ride without having to keep my eyes on the road.
Down across the GG Bridge and back to Hwy, 1 to through Santa Cruz and through Monterey.
Then that beautiful ride between Carmel-B-T-S and Cambria through Big Sur and past San Simeon (Hurst's Castle). It got really cold along the Ocean so I found a place to spend the night. In the morning I reloaded my gear and hit Highway 1 for the rest of the ride home. Stopped off at Santa Barbara and had Fish and Chips on Sterns Wharf for lunch then rode on home.

My SuperGlide with the Tmax autotune gets right at 40 MPG running 70-75 MPH.
I intend to do a little adjusting on it so my cruising rpm range is a little leaner so my mileage improves.
That Valkerie was getting about 20+MPG. I couldn't believe it. And he rode it from Dallas, Texas stopping every 100 miles about to fill up.
As I was setting the pace out of L.A. I tried to stop about that for him. I told him I wouldn't have a bike I couldn't ride around the block with out stopping for fuel.
That is the Craigslist Motorcycle Forum group. This was my third gathering with them. Last year we west coasters got together at Tidewater, Or. just a few miles from Waldport. Then just a few months ago I rode to OKC. to visit some family and while there I joined in with a bunch of mid west forum member that were holding a get together. Even in Kansas there were people that flew in from Oregon and New York.
These are a great bunch of people with love of riding. Many different styles of bikes and riding, but we're all the same in the wind.
Yeah, Projector's shovel is a nice old bike. It was the only other Harley there. Last year there was his, mine and a couple of others.
