I got a chance to ride a 2010 street Glide yesterday. A friend of mine from Jersey was visiting so we rented the Street Glide for $75 from 9:00 to 5:00 Saturday. I only road it for a short time because I really didn’t like it that much, mostly because of the short windshield. After you reach 30 or 40 mile an hour I couldn’t hear anything. The engine is very smooth and so not only could I not hear the engine I couldn’t feel it either. I honestly could have been riding the rev limiter and wouldn’t have known it.

The bike looks great and has nice throttle response, but I did not like the handle bars. Coming from my RK with 16 inch bars I felt like I was sitting on top of it and not in it, kind of like sitting on a crotch rocket.

I know that my old 98 is no gem and I’m always chasing some problem, but it’s seems a shame to me to purchase a bike like this and then have to spend a couple of thousand more to make it comfortable to ride and listen to. Not only did it need a louder exhaust, handle bars and windshield (if your into them), it needed a cam to give it lumpy feel. Kind of like giving it some personality or soul.

I guess this is true with all new bikes though. I remember the first thing I did with my 98 after I bought it was look around for exhaust, handlebars and cam shaft. Some things don’t change I guess - they just get more expensive.

I tried out a 08 Street Glide befor I picked the Ultra and it has to something with the way a Street Glide sits. I have a short windshield on my Ultra and it is nothing like the SG with the short windshield.

I have a friend in our HOG chapter that bought that SE Streetglide. He went from a fat boy and he loves it. I've never seen a bigger grin on a guy with a new bike.

I guess it's up to the person , who & what they want out of a bike , I test rode a Victory over the weekend , I rode the vison but ugle to me , but once I got past the look , if I was to buy one the only thing I would change is pipes I like to here them , it rode so good & more power then expected , the leader took us around a few rodes at the rally then to a back road & he hit his throttle so I did the same , I had my grand son on back & i'll say the 106 factory victory run's real good :D & very agile (sp) for it size corners real good you can lean way more the my E glide , But like I said once you past the look's of it your good to go :rocket_bike:, victory will have a new bike out on the floor in about a week called the cross roads very good looking bike Victory campares it to the road king , My son-in-law has a victory 8 ball & looking into the cross roads , thats why we looked at the victory tent at the lone star rally , only got to set on the HD's , will say the fatboy low set's good but the handle bars suck

Got a friend that just took delivery of the first Cross Country in the USA, they wrote it up on Victory's web site,

Close to 100 hp/tq on tap from the factory, large saddle bags, comfortable, better handling adjustable pegs and floorboards and shifters.

    said its a great bike...

My Classic pretty much matches the SG front end - deflector and mirrors but it still sits 2" higher on the suspenion and I think it makes all the differece with the wind cause 75% of it goes right over my head.

I to have problems with wind buffeting. I have five shields and each one presents its own problem. I should have tried the road glide and e glide but didn't. Kinda stuck with the bike for now. The new victory is a nice looking bike.

I like my windshield cut so that I can just see over the top of it. As for wind and buffeting gee :gah: it is a motorcycle and not a convertible car.

I just needed a couple o more inches.
    I know, I know ... that's what she said!

Here's a couple of pics. That's my buddy from Jersey. He's the one that I told y'all about his wreck a few months ago. This is the first time he got back in the saddle. I forced him into it and he is the only person I would have ever done that to but I knew he could handle it. He was shakier that I thought he would be to be totally honest, but he had a good time.

I had issues with the handlebars on the Street Glide too. I was leaning over like I was on a crotch rocket too. The only 2010 I've tried so far that I really like is the Fatboy Lo.

    Street Glide test ride

Your very correct Abby even for me the bars on the 09 and 10 bikes which are the same, are to far forward. I just ordered at set of Wild 1 WO575 bars for the bike. I'll be installing them with the new Heat Demons for the throttle by wire bikes and a new stainless steel clutch cable.

FLHT I know what you mean , to me the vison is but ugly , but like I said once you get past the look's it a very agail bike for it's size , I do like the look's of both the cross roads & cross county , we did get to just set on both of them there & they feel very agail as well & there made in the Good ole USA
PS don't think I'll be trading the old gezzer glide any time soon for one

That's cool, I like the looks of the other two but that Vision looks like the Star Ship Enterprise. To bad they couldn't make it look better but still obtain the same qualities of the ride it has.

Victory Cross Roads is very nice looking
saw them in person up at Daytona and Sanford Bike Weeks.

Rear bags are huge double the FLH
more hp and tq than a cvo in the stock model

Buddy just took delivery of one of the first ones in the USA, Victory called and
    interviewed him..

I like the street glide and have an 09 RG - if wind buffeting bothers you- stay off the glide, it is a wind wonder, rides and handles great but you'll get more wind than on a standard bagger.

I've even put a taller windshield on. Lowers might be the only way to reduce the wind
or you will have to go taller. Might go with a CeeBailies recurve I have heard they help but I don't want to look like a Goldwing with that big azz windshield curved over my head.
