I thought it would be a great idea since I taught my step-son to bike many years ago, to go and buy a new scooter (08' HLFTC Dressed and share the payments. BAD IDEA!!!
Since we shared the payments, it was a collaboration to share the ride. DON'T DO IT EVER!
One week after buying the bike, my step-son totaled the bike. He was hurt bad but, over came it quickly. TTL (Thank the Lord) I love him to death but, don't ever do this. You buy a bike you ride the bike. Sharing is not in the equation. Now I cannot afford to get another and miss the ride.

That's honorable to have such faith in a step-kid. That's hard for a lot of step-parents to do. That really stinks.

I had a lady in a class one time that said she was sharing a bike with a friend. I couldn't comprehend how anyone could do that. Not for this reason, but I want to have my bike available to me all the time.

I hope you can get another one again soon.

    Gotcha too

I shared a softail including the payment with my eldest son for 3 years, with the bike in his name. Nice thing was we both travel for our jobs and were seldom home to ride at the same time. I decided to get a streetglide so the wife could ride too. My boy said me buying the bagger ruined his desire for a father son thing and traded the softail in for a volkswagon. As said in another post, there goes his inheritance.

Sharing my ride with anyone would be the same as loanin out my jockey shorts - It ain't gonna happen. Had 8 kids (hers mine and ours) bought all of them their first vehicle and paid for it. Told them you buy the plates and insurance and fix it if ya break it. Worked out so far. Now if I can just fiqure a way to stop them from borrowing all my tools and not returning them I be happy!

tools aahhh I have the ones for them and the ones for me once their out sorry about thier luck, as for scooters, I have let my bro in-law SIT on mine to feel how it sat compared to his, my sons have SAT on it for one reason or another, my two oldest have shared his sporty ONCE for familiarization only, after that I consider it forbidin, or taboo even. JMO, back to the tools, I pay the bills with mine so my kids have the utmost respect for them, they ask to barrow my good ones and return them clean after use no matter how they recieved them. theirs they leave laying around once in a while. and once in a while they loose one but some where or another it shows back up.

    Hers and Mine

Wife and I each have our own, very seldom does one ride the other. The last couple of Fathers days she let my son ride hers while she rode with me so he could join us on a poker run. That was her old bike, I bet she doesn’t let him ride her new one. He just bought one of those Polaris side by side ATVs, for what he paid for that could have gotten a very nice Harley of any model.
