Don't know if any of you all seen or heard about this sort of gadget yet but on the news yesterday I saw a thing they have now that can read your credit card through your clothes (men) or in your pocket book (women). It prints the info on one of those ultra small laptops then the thief can have a hay day maxing out you card(s). Said these folks work mainly where crowds are tight: elevators, mall checkouts, etc. which makes since. Less chance of them being suspected / caught since folks are bumping together anyhow. Only takes two seconds to read your card and store the info then they can "bump" into the next victim.:angry::angry:

That would work plus somewhat of a deterrant for those who are thinking of trying it.

That's what we need to do along the boarder. Its called target practice. Shoot em and let them lay out there for the buzzards and as a reminder to the ones coming across so they know what's in store for them.

Then the SPCA would come down on us for the poor quality of food that the buzzards were being "baited" with.

You could throw in a little dark (Arabs) meat and mix it up a bit. :D

Another way that your card information can be gathered is people are putting blue tooth devices into the slot where you run your card like on ATMs and gas pumps and when you slide your card your number is sent right to their cell phone or computer. One thing that I was told is that when you do slide your card at the gas pump and after your reciept prints hit clear so that it wipes out your information, don't think this will help if one of those devices have been put in.

The only solution I see is to go back to using cash & checks.

I personally would rather accept cash or a personal check in my business. When someone uses a credit card it costs me quit a bit. I don't worry about bounced checks cause someone buying a home is usually going to have the money. And the Mex. always pay in cash. :D

Cash works pretty good and has no identity with it. Only thing is putting up with carrying it. Bbut then that's part of what the scammers are counting on too.

I love getting paid in cash too, it seems to get spent faster but then you don't have to worry about watching the bank account to see what has gone through and what hasn't!
