Hi, how do I check the coil on my 1983 shovelhead to verify the ohms rating?
I think I set the multimeter to ohms and touch the top and bottom posts, and then just read the meter, correct?

Correct - just make sure you don't have it connected to the bike battery when you check it. Been there and done that it wasn't pretty! :)

That would be bad, you would end up going like this: :puke:
After realizing you just fried you $80 40,000 volt rev-tech coil!
I did something similar once but it was my $250 ignition module the went sizzle sizzle (literaly)! I felt like going: :puke:
