He was at moms house and the cap was in his left hand. I think he was surprised to see the old man standing there in his uniform.

I can't tell you how many times I got told get your hat squared way sailor by some over zealous puke boot camp Lieutenant JG. I told one in a military way "sir you been where I've been then you can tell me to square my hat away".

Got to me too. Sent 2 sons just weeks apart over to Iraq in '04. I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby seeing them off and when they returned.

Good for the LT. If you can't wear the uniform right don't wear it. You soldier sound like a problem child. Drop and give me 100 mountain climbers!!!

We were under fire on time right off the coast of North Vietnam and I had to jump in the motor whale boat with 3 other guys to try a rescue a shot down pilot. We found him but he wasn't alive. We picked up the pieces and started making our way back to the old destroyer and I saw this full lieutenant jumping up and down like a monkey yelling at me. He thought the motor whale boat wasn't pumping any cooling water. It was and I was watching the temp but as I got on board he was still screaming so I turned and told him to stick his boat up his ars. Didn't care those puke do nothing officers made me sick. Bunch of worthless stupid idiots.

I had to fix the boat, not a problem I had to make my own impeller out of a piece of thick rubber, it worked then the jerk shut his mouth. My enlistment was up after that and I got off and went to DA Nang where we were almost killed twice.

Most were ROTC, not all. More and more enlisted were working there way into the officers ranks and were better officers. I was enlisted for 4 years and went to college, got into ROTC, and they were pushing hard to get me to commit to that but I was too much of a F up. Just as well. Offciers responsibillites seemed like ass kissing bullsh*t anyway.

All the JR officers in the Navy went through the Navy officer college boot camp bull crude. Never respected any new ones as they were so stupid. Had more respect for the Warrant officers as they came up through the ranks. Those guys new there stuff and would do anything for them.
