Due to health problems I am closing my businesses and semi-retiring. Direct Parts was started in November of 1995 and will officially close in November 2006. For eleven years we were one of the largest Internet and retail (as Creative Cycles) shops around. When I opened the site, the only other shops I found on line were Flaming Pig and Cyborg Cycles. We were one of the pioneers when it came to selling Harley parts on line and we are proud of what we have done. I have met many, many fine people both on line and in person and have enjoyed their friendships tremendously. There were some speed bumps along the way but for the most part, we enjoyed it all. We enjoyed an excellent reputation and we will miss all of the good people out there and we thank you for your support, business and friendship.

If you are interested, we will be selling our remaining inventory at our retail location at 38 E Grant Road here in Tucson. All sales are final and cash and carry.

Bike Talk has become a very popular forum and if anyone is interested in continuing hosting it, please contact me. If you are looking for a new "home" there is none better than the V-Twin forum.

    Take care,
    Cyber Dave (CD)

BTW, speaking of Cyborg Cycles I had met the founder, Magnum Bob at his old shop in Daytona years ago. He is good people as are the new owners up in Idaho. Of all of the shops on line, I never heard a single compalint about them. So, if you are looking for a good place to do business with I recommend them whole heartedly.

I am sooo sorry to hear that. You guys are awesome and the forum is one of my favorite places. I'll have to call and get rear brake pads for the cycle (probably the only thing I can really afford). Again I wish you the very best and know that what you did was not in vain. You helped lots of people (me included) and you ran a very successful business. All I can say is thanks man!!! You are the Bomb!!! Peace:)

I'm sooo sorry to hear that your health is on the decline and you're closing the doors.:( Man! Hope you're still going to be able to ride the scoot though. I really hope someone picks up the forum! Moving to a different one now just wouldn't be the same! I may glance at another from time to time, but it just won't be right as rain, as this site is. Hang in there, my brother!

I haven't been here long but I have truly enjoyed the insight on motorcycle maintenance you guys have been providing. CD, I have especially enjoyed reading your posts. They are often very technical but you write them so that even I can understand most of it. I will miss reading your articles but your health is the most important thing you have so take care of it. God bless you and your family.

first of all, look after yourself

Dave, I hope you can get a handle on the health side of things and enjoy yourself. I'd still like to get together with the guys and ride down for another visit. You know, it seems like yesterday when I got a computer and stumbled upon Motorcycle Online's review of the Royal Star vs the Road King and met you, SK, Marc, for starters. For a while, I was practically glued to the computer on my days off. I wasted a lot of time but it was time well wasted..we sure used a lot of bandwidth..learned lots, laughed lots and forged friendships..some of the best rides I've been on have involved guys that I've met on the net, Laughlin 98...the ride there , not the event, aside from meeting yourself and Goose, Sturgis 98,99 and the last two bike talk rides. I'm really busy at work and don't get out on the bike near enough but when I do,the road is an old friend that calls. A recent National Geographics has a picture of a power plant behind a red sandstone monument in northern AZ....I looked at the picture on the cover and smiled..I've seen that, that's got to be around Glen Canyon..sure enough it was..I remember my first ride to Flagstaff to meet up with SK and then going to Springerville..and then the next year with Marc. I know I'm just rambling here....just thinking out loud but I'm just full of great memories right now..look after yourself I'd like to have some more to share

CD, **** man, I am really sorry to hear about your health problems. Seems that what they say about all good tings coming to an end is right. I am really gonna miss bike talk, I feel that people here are straight up and real. I know we disagree at times but thats what makes the world interesting. It would be a sad place if everyone shared the same opinions.
Our prayers will be with you, man. Relax, get the health issues under control and keep on keepin on.
