That was pretty shocking, those 9 assorted folks getting executed by firing squad. But as extreme as the incident appears what did the they expect. And with airport security ramped up most every where after 911 what where they thinking. I read many articles about these 9 drug dealers and it is unfortunate,sad and mind blowing.

After watching movies like "return to paradise", "broke down palace" and " midnight express" I came to understand never under any circumstances mess with drugs in any capacity in foreign countries. In fact don't go to foreign countries as I don't think Americans are liked or well thought of. Not counting Canada. Go to Canada all the time.

Yep, your in a foreign country and they are in charge of your life ( or death) That's why I stay here!

I don't watch much news anymore, so I don't know if it has made it into the media. Along the border of Mexico there has been some horrific killings by the cartels and to the cartels themselves. Heads cut off placed on bridges. A friend of mine has a place in a border town and he said it was pretty bad. That was a while back and I haven't spoke with him in months. Most people would be muling for the cartels if their family was at risk if they didn't. Sometimes they don't just kill them. There are much worse things than a quick death.

Yeah no desire to go to Mexico. Glad I went in the mid 70's when I did.mit sucked then to. F'ing federales are wicked corrupt. Got shook down for 20$ when I was there. I was falsely accused of running a red lite. When I told the officer he said " give me 20$ or go to jail." I gave him 20$ and went home. Stink hole of a place.

In the 80's when I was in Panama (south america) I was pulled over for making an illegal left turn. He wanted 20 or 30 bucks to let me go. I didn't have it. He ask, what do you have. I scapped up all the change in my car, pockets, wallet and it came to about 6 bucks. He looked at me like I was trash and let me go LOL. Panama had a lot of things I like to spend my money on... crooked cops was not one.

Panama is very friendly towards Americans as many have moved there...A lot of people are just fed up with our tax system and goubermint in general...You can live like a king down there for little $$...My brother and his wife who are adventurous are looking to retire and spent a month down there last year and loved it and bumpted into several Americans who have done the same and love it...You can have your SS and pension payments sent there and they say basic medical is pretty good...Probably not for me but gives me something to think about...
