Been a HD guy since 1979. That's 36 years. The Indian catchs my interest.....to a point. The Indian mystique and some of the styling is interesting but I template most all bikes based on HD styling,I know not fair, it's what I'm use to. There's also the legacy of Indian being in and out of business. I wish them the best.

Wonder how much MR Ness influenced them on that.

I agree but ugly for sure.

Here's the thing. If it looks like H-D, then they are accused of ripping off a design, if it looks different, it is considered ugly because the public is used to the H-D appearance being the standard others are measured by. Tough place to be as a stylist.
But yes, I agree, looks like lost baggage at the airport. Also likely the most unflattering angle for a pic. How about a side view?

Side view in my opinion only slightly better. Those fender skirts with the lowers I'm just not a fan. In fact, I don't care for either the Harley or the victory lowers. But truth be known, after riding a victory for a week, is probably by the victory (without the lowers)

My first thought was small airplane wheel covers.

Here is a side view. Even the front fairing looks like it was punched in the nose making it flat. Not an attractive motorxycle. Think the Goldwing has better lines than this bike does.

Pull off the lowers, pull the shirts and the chrome trim on the fairing and I could like it.

In the Roadmaster pic I really get a late 40s' early 50s vibe, and I don't mind it. Would I buy it? No, to big and heavy for my tastes. But I don't mind it appearance wise as an alternative to H-D, and it is better than the Japanese clones on the road.
The new Goldwing and some of the other Honda designs of late leave me saying WTF? most of the time.

If I were born in the '40s. I might like the retro look like I like the cars today with the late 60 - early 70 looks.

Lowers are great when it's raining and when on a trip there nice extra storage.

Looks like a misshapened road king But you're right it looks better. The road king looks better then the Ultra too. Sporty always trumps touring, always. When you chose touring you always give up cool looking for long distance amenities. And what a great trade off. After riding strictly touring since '07 I rode a fat boy low last year....the ride sucked.
