    Got following question.

I got a Dyna Street Bob 09 and want to install screaming eagle mufflers and
    a heavy breather.

My local Luxembourg (Europe) HD dealer tells me that no further adjustment has to be done which I find hard to believe.

    Any opinions on this?

He could be right. With O2 sensors your ECM may be able to compensate for those changes. Drive it and you be the judge on how it runs. Listen for backfire on decelerations, Listen for coughing from the throttle when you go from zero throttle to open throttle and watch that the engine light doesn't come on indicating a code trip and if you can stand the engine heat. If any of those things happen you may want to get a power commander or some such device.

Oh, And welcome to the forum.

I ride with a guy almost everyday that did what you are doing and has not add a tunner kit or anything else and his bike out performs ones who have added the tunner as recommend by the tech guys at the stealership. It's all about money at the stealerships.

    The stealerships, nice 1!

So in other words I can install the breather and muffler myself.

I would, it an't rock science, most come with simple instructions. Or just reverse the order you take stuff off. If your goin ride you should be able to work on it when needed. Shouldn't take more than a few hours for first timer. Before adding a tunner check back with this site for what kind and where to buy. JMO

On my 09 ultra I did the stage one, air cleaner, V&H Monster Ovals and did the Race Tuner. Dealership already had a down load on file from another 09 with the same setup. They just down loaded it into my bike and she runs great. 44 MPG and runs real strong. One service writer insisted that it had to be dyno tuned and I told him, bull. Head mechanic set him straight.

    Yes and no

    Yes you can do it,

No it may not be wise to run a long time that way.

the ECM has a little wiggle room when you change the slip ons OR the filter but both will make the bike lean out too much.

They are already very lean for EPA regulations (in Europe its a different government body but you have an emissions group that monitors exhaust emissions probably worse than the USA) so when you change the pipes you lean it out a bit more as it's scavaging better.

Then when you open up the air filter you are letting more air in (even leaner)

Will it run, yes, will it pop fart, snort, maybe, maybe not..

Will it probably be too lean, run hotter, yes,

You would be wise to add a Power Commander V, Power Comander 5, Powercommander or TTS Mastertune System of the old HD SERT which is 10 times better than HD's new tuners)

With the new breather and less restictive mufflers you DO need a stage 1 download. The O2 sensors do help out, but the bike already runs lean/hot and with the increase in airflow it will only get leaner.
