This year was my first year of going to the IMS and would have to say that it was very average. It was fun because it was a new experience for me and it was pretty much what I thought it would be. I didn't really see anything that I wouldn't have been able to see if I would have just gone to one of the dealerships with the exception of few things.

One of the most interesting things is that Victory had an engine cut away on display that did a pretty good job showing how the engine was designed. If you have been considering one of these (Victory) this may change your mind. It did for me at least. I do have some pictures of the engine that I will post later.

My favorite part or aspect of the show was looking at the vintage iron and custom iron that was there. The Indian that was picked from the show American Pickers was there and restored. Speaking of Indian, I threw my leg over one and I was really impressed with how easy it stood up. I expecting a much heavier unbalanced bike. Pleasantly to my surprise, that bike felt really good. Not sure that I like that the Indians either because those are sporting the Polaris engine. Styling is OK.

i like the other engines looks but it's not smooth
basically its an old softail pre balanced design nothing wrong
but if you ride a TC-B and pre TC softail you'll see the difference
is significant at any speed but really at highway speeds

The Polaris Engine is proven, and lower cost for them to
put in the Indian, maybe they'll get some cooler looking
rocker boxes for the Indian line, and the software tuning
as well as management electronics will make taking care
easier as well as dealer service.
