Not only an invasion of privacy marc,it's plain idiotic...With that info I could now target homes I know have guns,do a B&E when I know they're not home and steal a bunch of guns...
The moron that came up with that idea and the idiot that allowed it to be published should be fired IMHO

These weasels find ways to squirm around the law and then do some idiotic stunt like this. It's our system of mass communication gone amok once again. It's a two edged sword, and more often than not is used to its worst potential.

Hate to see this happening . . .

On the plus side, any robbers that read the paper know
which homes have no guns and thus unarmed residents
so the target list just moved to a more specific list.

Well, it doesn't work that way at least here HRK. Police officers keep the fact that they are police because their homes DO get targeted specifically for the guns. Bad guys will come fully equiped to deal with the potential armed home owner. What that paper did is to try and push Oboomas agenda, as one other said "just like the sex offenders". Attempt to put pressure on owners.
That F N papers owners and editors should be looked up and get their names and home addresses listed now.

I disagree. I believe that anyone on the list who has their home broken into should bring legal action against the paper for being an accessory to the crime. In the meantime, said homeowners should consider investing in a gun safe, if they don`t already have one.

"The media has no liability for publishing public information," said Edward Rudofsky, a First Amendment attorney at Zane and Rudofsky in New York. The issue does present a clash between First and Second amendment rights, he said, but in general, the law protects publishing public information unless the intent was to harm someone.

Re: Meet Cyndee Royle Editor that Posted NY Gun List

Heres the gist, what she did was helpful and hurtful,

It helps because it now tells you what will happen if PUkeloski's national gun registry was
created, it would be public info and the press would be coming after it for the listings all over the USA, it could be used to intimidate gun owners, ruin friendships cause strain on neighbors relationships, cause people to get killed.

She basically killed the national gun registry at least for any sensible person you have to be against this.

She also put some peoples lives at risk, one man on the list is a former LEO who arrested a lot of felons and criminals and put them in jail, so he's on a revenge list for these guys, and had worked to keep his address secret to protect his family and himself. Now it's out.

Undoubtedly there are women who were hiding from abusive spouses after divorces
from domestic violence, logical they would have a gun, now, out in the open. I guess NY wants you to consider that having a gun for self defense forfeits your right to privacy so you don't get a gun.. NY is one fuggKed up state..

Update: The court replied that all gun permits are public records and county officials do not have the authority to block the release of any public records and would be breaking the law if they refused to release these records.

Putnam County NY officials were fighting the release of these records. They lost.

    Well this is karma

from what, the massive amount of negative emails, beeatch filed a police
report, cops found no threat was made.

That will be the next article, lawful gun owners are zealots and crazy
