Irene is visiting right now. Trees down around the neighborhood, power has been out for a few hours now. One third of Long Island is without electric. Thinking of starting the Fatboy and making some coffee on the topend! Ha! OL is besides herself. I'm going stir crazy. Pretty soon my battery back-up on the computer and modem will be dead. This may be my last posting, goodbye cruel world! Oh wait, that's right, I have a smarty pants phone with Tapatalk. Nevermind. :D

Good luck, wished there was something we do to help. Don't go outside and get hit by any falling trees. I just heard the storm is loosing power and is now down graded to a tropical storm, hmmm means lots of rain. Watch out for any Tornadoes that may pop up.

Cellular phones out now. 1/2 Long Island without power. Bottom of my hill the harbor is more than 4 feet over the streets. Thank God it is a "baby" storm.

I'm half mile from Port Jefferson harbor. North side of island we don't get a surge per say. We get the ocean pushing into the east end on long isand sound. Water stacks up tides can't drain due to wind. We are on a newmoon tide which is the highest tide then add several more feet on top. Down in the village on the water, more than 4 feet over the streets! No electric, still too windy for them to work. Half of island without electric and land lines. Lots of cellphone disruption too.

No power on the island means
gas will be hard to get for a few days until
power is back on. So you are ahead of the game

Interesting my sister lives up by Greensboro NC which is about a 6 hour drive from the coast and they just got a small breeze and light rain from it.

Yea he probably got hammered on pretty hard.

I just thought how wierd that it left one area in NC virtually alone.
Be good to hear from him again but imagine the power in that area is still out.
He may also have more important things on his mind right now.
