I own a 2001 FXDL Lowrider, I need to replace the back tire...What is the largest tire that will fit without any modifications? (130/90 16 is the current size). Will a 140/90 16 fit? how about a MU/90 16? I am also considering a Michelin Commander...does anyone have a comment as to my choice? I bought an Avon Venom 100/90 18 for the front in December.
    Thanks

I believe the 140 will fit but you will need to check the belt clearance first. I've seen others switch to a narrower belt to get arround this but I don't recall what year FXD this worked on. Personally when it comes to tire choices I prefer matched sets. I had a cruiser before with different tires front/back and experienced hadnling issues. If it were me I'd use an Avon on the rear if you already have that up front.
