Ironhead

    hi yesterday i got an 1983 ironhead it has been fitted with a cv carb but it
    only runs with the choke on full .when i try to ride it and open the throttle up it splutters and tries to cut out unless i drop the revs and if i shut down the choke it cuts out can anyone help me to figureout whats wrong with it. thanks.

    check your intake there might be a leak at the seals,and your carb might be dirty.Has the bike sat for a long time?

    hi i have just bought it off some guy on e bay. the guy i got it from another guy and dosent know anything about it . so you think its not any thing serious then.

    I don't think it is anything serious,just sounds like it is not getting gas,could be a dirty carb,or getting too much air from a leaky intake manifold seal.
