I will be looking at a new truck maybe early next year. I need a 3/4 ton or 1 ton diesel 4x4. I liked the Chevy and the Fords and maybe at one time the Dodge. With Dodge now being pretty much owned by the UAW and the government and it sounds like Chevy is pretty much in the same boat. It seems Ford is the only one privately owned thats not ruled by the UAW and the government. I can't stand the UAW and don't like the fact the government is calling the shots for Chevy and Dodge. Seeing the UAW is getting paid back for supporting Obama I can't bring myself around to support Chevy or Dodge by buying one. Anybody else feel this way?

Yep, community organizers are big on the unions and against corporations it seems. BO owes the unions a huge debt and he is paying them back big time. I have never been a Dodge fan but now that the union owns 55% of the company, I will never own one. I do have a 2007 Chev. diesel and it is a great truck. I believe Ford and Chevy are now building a pretty good product. It took the Japanese to wake them up IMO. Too bad GM has been run in the ground and there's plenty of blame to go around. I do have my stories and opinions about the unions but I won't go there. Good luck on getting your truck.

I have owned GM, Ford, Toyota, Yamaha, Dodge, datsun, peterbilt, freightliner, IH, and more, I can tell you I have had good luck and bad luck with them all. My opinion is we all keep what we have or rebuild the older ones, (You can make a pretty nice 49 dodge sedan with the same money as new) and put the kbosh on them all. we have all stopped driving as much a little more won't hurt us, people are basicly stepping back now and sayin holy chit what did we get ourselves into. I gave OB the beny of the doubt after he bought his way in, ( With no help from me mind you)but he didn't take long to show that his change was a bigger shovel to bury us faster. yadayaddayadda, now im done

I will continue with Ford vehicles because I always have owned Fords and they didn't take any bail out money.

Well we own a 3/4 ton Dodge 4X4. Very nice truck like it a lot, especially that new Cummings motor. Ford has had nothing but heart ache and headaches with the International Diesel.
I've always had good luck with Chevy cars and Trucks. I will just keep the Dodge. We have a Impala that we bought new in 02. The wife has put on 100100.00 miles on it and she thought about a new car. My only thing that I told her was no Japanese cars, not supporting Japanese land with the profits they make off of us on them. But, after checking with the insurance on a 09 Chevy Malibu and the price increase we decided to keep driving the 02. Crap the car still runs stong, gets 32 on the Hwy.
OB to me is going to run this country into the ground (he is already doing it). With him signing into law allowing the Palestinians to now move to the USA, were F&cked for sure.
I wonder if he would get elected now if we could do it over again. :cussing:

    The Perfect Truck - IMO

Ford or Chevy body and interior with a Cummins diesel and an Allison automatic trans.

I'm not sure who makes the best transfer case.

I would go along with that. I like the duramax, made by Isuzu, or cummins along with the the Allison trans. Ford with the new diesel I have been hearing bad feedback. Thats the dilemma I am in. No way am going to buy a Chevy or a Dodge thats is owned/run by UAW and Obama.

My 07 Dodge 4X4 diesel and the interior are great. Body style is sure a lot better looking than the new Chevy Body style. IMHO But that's what steered us towards the Dodge vs the Chevy. Ford was just having to many issues with their diesel. Put the Cummings in the Ford and you have a winning combination as long as you get a strong auto tranny.

Yes I've had some "heated" debates on a few other boards where there are some union boys.

As I've said it's not about me being mgt and you being union, it's about the political bullschit Obama pulled by giving the UAW stock over debt holders.

What he did was re-write the way bankruptcy is handled and at the same time screwed bondholders and investors in private debt placement by putting unsecured Union Pensions ahead of the people that loaned money to keep the company going.

Frankly someone should sue like crazy and I expect to see something along the lines.

What this does for those not into corporate finance, is simple erase the private debt and bond debt placement options for any manuf company in the USA. Why would a bank, or group of wealthy investors put money for bonds with a specific yield now knowing that Obama can come in and wipe out the debts tie to any assets and move anyone he wants ahead of them in the pecking order.

    They won't

it's why Ford can't do a bond offer to raise capital right now, they are trying to sell more stock. Obamas' boy may have had that in mine in order to get Ford to capitulate and take obamamoney or TARP funds.

Me, I'd buy a Ford, I'm a bowtie guy, always have been, but there are now three fords in my drive...

My 03 Supercrew has 91K on it and it's needed tires, brake pads and fluids, that's it.

I would never buy a UAW owned Chrysler, ever not because I don't like the union employees, I don't like the backdoor buttbanging Obama and the Union did to jump credit facilities and screw up the creditors that helped keep these guys alive...

Let them fail... It's a simple UAW buyout for more union dollars for the Dems.

I would imagine that the next presidential election is going to be the biggest event and political fight in history. As long as the Republicans can come up with a strong candidate. Its one where for the first time I might even join in the the process to throw out this monkey.
I love the way Nancy P stumbles on her words when being drilled above water boarding, such a unconvincing lier ain't she.

I'm with you hotroadking I'll never buy another Dodge either because of that. I really like the way the Ford F-150 4X4 looks but for the diesel I do like that Cummings.

You know I hate even saying I wouldn't buy a Dodge,,, because I want it to make it... but I can't stand watching capitalism being pushed under the rug for a socialist agenda of the left.

And that doesn't mean all Democrats are bad, because we have some looney right wingers too lol

I've bought my last new one for sure. That 07 Cummings is gonna have to last for a long time. Its getting crazy when ya have to pull the cab off to work on the motor. It may not have what you got Chuck but it sure as heck has got plenty of torque for me. Had an older Chevy 97 with the Diesel and that thing wouldn't pull its own weight.

:wtf: We won't hold it against ya fujimo for driving a Toyota or Nissan, but lets not do it again, ;) :roflmao:

See ya all in 5 days headed out on a road trip through southern Oregon with wife and friends.

I test drove an 01 Dodge back in 02. It was a Sport extended cab 4x4. It was the first or second year of the 24 valve Cummins. I loved that thing. The throttle response put the Ford to shame. This thing was better than a V10. I did not have the coin to buy it at the time, but I'll never forget how much fun that was.

My buddys Dodge was a few years older, but, his interior fell apart. He got rid of it when the trans started to go. I like the looks of the dodge but the thing seems to fall apart too soon.
