That's a great list! Honestly, I don't know how you men do it! We are such different creatures, but it somehow works. I've always been attracted to tough guys who ride motorcycles...so I went out, got myself a Harley, passed my MSF course and became my own boyfriend! I AM the boyfriend I've always wanted! LOL. Just kidding...but I do love my Harley!!!

Thank you FLTH, for your welcome.
Now that my bike is on its way to Seattle, I have plenty of time to hang out. 'Haul Bikes' is shipping it. They assured me, more than once, that it would take about 3 weeks. However, once it was on the truck, then they told me 5 weeks! :wtf:

It takes only 3 days to drive cross country and it takes them 5 weeks?? I do realize they have to get enough bikes on the truck to make a profit...but geez...there has got to be a faster way. I'll be in Seattle for 3 weeks w/o my bike. Painful! :banghead:

Does anyone know a company that ships motorcycles faster than that (for future reference)? I may be shipping it BACK to New York in about 9 months.

Why the back and forth, just stay on the west coast. The riding here in the riding season is the best.
As for shipping, rent a trailer and tow it back yourself?

Well, I have homes on both coasts. I am in the process of deciding where to live permanently. I have some family in Seattle (most importantly, my son) but my roots are here in NY. I really don't know what to do...I hope by this time next year, I'll have it figured out.

I'm not good at sitting in a confined space (car) and traveling long distances. I practically killed my ex-husband for taking me down to Florida 2 times to vacation with his family! He thinks it's hilarious, my idea to travel cross country. He says my car would make it, but I wouldn't! Fortunately, we are still friends and I've forgiven him for putting me through the hell of those long, tedious trips. And he has forgiven me for making the trips none too fun for him! Back to that list at the top....I think it's all true.

If I can get someone to go with me to share the driving, that is possible. I'll figure out something...or just decide to stay in Seattle and come back here next year and sell the house. Time will tell.

Funny! :D I live in Fredonia, NY just outside of Buffalo. Yes, the more I think about it, the more I feel I need new surroundings. The Seattle area is just so crazy with traffic, though. I hope I find a riding buddy who knows his/her (preferably 'his') way around! ;)

To bad you didn't live down here in Oregon that way I could show you some really great roads. I was up in Washington again today and road around the back side of Saint Helen's and what beauty we saw. I'm going to post some pics here on bike talk. God, I love riding in the Pacific Northwest.

I've been to Fredonia, winters are terrible there. But I have to say, it's a lot nicer place to live then the NYC area. When you move to Wash join H.O.G when ya get there. You'll meet lot's of riding buddies. You'll see the sights.

Yes, the scenery is gorgeous. My sister lives in The Dalles, O. On my way down to see her 2 years ago, I was stunned at the beauty of it all. I told her I want to ride my bike down to see one of these days.

BTW: how long is the riding season in the Northwest? Are people still riding in November?

Yes, the winters here are terrible.

I thought I was already a member of HOG but I haven't gotten any of their magazines..probably because I keep changing my address from one coast to the other. I will check into that.

I know there are quite a few riding groups in the Seattle area. Hopefully I'll find one that's a good fit and then develop some good friendships. Thanks!

Seattle gets a lot more rain than we do but you can still ride in Novemeber. Heck, there are still enough good days that I can ride every month of the year. The worst month for rain here is usually February.
You won't have a hard time finding riding groups in the Seattle area.:)

Thank you Chuck! I love the 'thumbs up' I get from both men and women when I ride.

Riding motorcycles is still a man's world, pretty much, but I'm glad more and more women are learning to ride. I got my inspiration from seeing other women ride.

I grew up with motorcycles. My brother, in the 70's had a Bridgestone dealership. However, women riders were pretty much unheard of. I do remember he put me on a moped and I went straight into a bush! :p I said, 'Okay, this is for the birds!' But he took me for a ride on his bike and I was hooked.

Anyhow, I'm glad times have changed because I love riding so much!!!!! When I hear that roar underneath me, I'm in heaven.

Sorry for my long winded messages. Isn't this what women do? Go on and on and on...;) Blah, blah, blah. :gah:
