Plan on buying the CV delux tuning kit for my 883l...Question I have is, the bike is still stock except for the baffles being removed and having a K&N filter installed in stock air cleaner.. Is the stock jetting fine right now? Open to any and all advise...Get the typical off idle carb fart every now and then.

I've got an 04 883 that came stock with a 42 idle jet with American Custom slip on's and stock air filter. I switched the idle jet to 45 and noticed a nice improvement but have left the main jet the same. I'm also in the process of putting an Arlen Ness big sucker and one of the CV kits to do a little more fine tuning but going to a 45 was a good start.

reinstall the baffles, or some type of restriction in the exhaust....it will be very hard at best to tune if left unbaffled ..................

The bike runs a lot better without the baffles..Checked the new plugs I put in couple of hundred miles ago..They look good. No question is dumb..But how can putting a restriction on the exhaust make it easier to tune? I always thought a free flowing exhaust is what you wanted? "Preciate more schooling on that. Thanks.
