Ken here should be able to steer you in the right direction. He has carb kits and lives in CA.

The carb is the same regardless of what state it was made for. Only difference is what jetting was included and if it has a separate breather port that connects to a charcoal emissions canister. Internally the carbs are all the same.

Also depending on the year the California bike could have a catalytic converter integrated into the muffler.

you will need to go to the stealership and purchase the service manual....about 50bucks or so, but well worth the money. another good manual to get from them is the parts manual....it shows how things go together or apart. when used with the service manual and a little common sense, and some basic tools, there isnt much that you cant do to your machine, as far as regular maintainance, adjustments, and trouble shooting. if you can read and look at the pics in the parts manual...you will be able to rebuild your carb, frontend, brakes, wiring and lighting,swingarm....ect...ect... will save you a ton of money by not spending it at the stealers................

Try about $85.00 and $65.00 for the parts manual but still worth while.

Went to an HD dealer yesterday and been looking at a set of billet mirrors they listed at 199.95 at another dealer and this dealer had em for 127.00 so maybe your dealer had em at a better price. Went on-line and checked and they were 85.00 also.

EBAY is loaded with 06 manuals right now. I got all three for mine from there for under $70. 2004 to 2006 are all basically the same. 06 had a few little changes, not enough to keep me from using an 06 manual with my 05 Sporty. 07 things got a bit more crazy and 08 it all went to hell with fuel injection.
