Jetting suggestions 06 fxst big bore...step in KEN

    ok i have a 06 fxst...vance hines long shots, arlen ness stage II kit, port polished heads, cosmetics .0030 gasket, 95'' big bore wiesco 10:5:1 forged..big bore being installed in a couple days...screamin eagle coil..screamin eagle 203 cam....i need suggestions on what jets to play around with currently running a 48 195 ...with stock bore kieth black dome top forged 10:5:1 i seem rich, i dont git it...ps pistons has less then 100 miles and will be for sale


    but like i was saying i need to find out what jetting to play around with so i can git miles on the engine before being dynoed dont want to be running lean

    I would start with the same jets (48/195) and adjust the mixture screw. My previous bike I rebuilt from an 88" to a 95" and settled on the 48/195 combination.

    One word of caution, be careful not to go too high on the comp ratio if you don't have access to high grade 92+ gas. Here in California we can only get 91 octane and when I built my bike with a ratio over 10.5:1 the bike pinged and had a hard time starting. I changed out the thinner head gasket for a standard which lowered my compression and this allowed me to run on the 91 pump gas and improved starting without having to resort to compression releases.

    Check compression on both cyl, I think this will be high and prone to detonation as well
    as hard starting when hot, you'll need compression releases more than likely on hot restarts.

    I would go 204, andrews 37B, woods 6 or woods 5

    well the bike has comrpession releases and the gasket kit im going to use for the big bore will not be a cosmetic!!! its a james miced .0040 and far as gas 93 octane i pretty common here i didnt know u guys had problems like that in cali i know the emisions are tough i guess it makes sence

    gaskets came usps today...hope the big bore comes in .....snail mail beat ups!!!

    I've used both James and Cometic and have had good results with both. Keep us updated on your project.

    ok theres a friend of ours that used a 203, 10:5:1 pistons forged dont know the name brand and .0030 gasket.. 200lbs per cylinder...i went to the shop with the question
