Forum newbie, have been running EFI Twin Cams since 2001. My only Evo experience was tearing down/rebuilding a friend's '96 Road King that trashed an INA cam bearing...learned a lot, but still a ways to go, especially carb jetting/tuning.

So now I've lucked into a '93 Heritage, and am of course wanting to add a little punch. Here is the configuration I'll be installing:

    Ness Big Sucker I
    EV27 Cam
    SE double-barrel pipes

Once I'm done turning wrenches, I'll want to jet/tune the carb appropriately. Since this configuration is pretty common, I wanted to check with the forumn experts to see if any particular jet sizes have worked well for others. Also, is any timing adjustment needed for the EV27?

(BTW, I have checked and will use the carb tuning FAQs).

    Thanks,

    Dallas

Dallas welcome to the site as for your set up Not a clue ,I have never had a evo shovel to a TC, what carb are you running ? ,it should be farly simple as it's about the same tuning I would just try resetting what you have , then check look into changing the high jet

Cowboy, thanks for the warm welcome. Running a stock CV carb, and was planning on going through the tuning steps, but thought if a lot of folks had found success with a certain jet combination it might save a little time. Either way, I'll be learning something new, so it's all good.

    Brooksds,

With myEV27, SE heads, VH slipons, I'm happy with the 46 low and 190 high and getting 42 mpg. Start there and see how she runs.

    G-luck

Hey brooksds, if you search back through my posts you will find several places where I have posted the factory jets for 04-06 Sportsters both 883 and 1200. In 04 HD hopped them up in size a bit from previous years, and this causes a lot of confusion working on those year models and their carbs.

Kenfuzed designed a kit that will probably do most everything you need. I put one in my '03 FXDX, runs so much better I couldn't believe it's the same bike.

The ez-just screw is a big help with tuning. Much easier than a screwdriver and you won't burn your fingers as much.

Actually, that's how I got here. A Google search on Evo carb tuning led me to the CVP site, which then led me here. I was planning on using this kit, just looking for sage wisdom on jet sizes.
