I see dead deer on the roads here from time to time. Dead coons, 'possums, cats and dogs, too. Some years back, a biker was killed by a deer riding near Hobgood. I see them once in a while and they have crossed the road in front of me. Usually, my loud pipes will scare them off. But you never know . . .

Sometimes the loud pipes I have noticed will scare them and cause some to jump out in front of you. We saw deer along side the road on our trip both dead and alive. Seems like many times they will wait until your right on them and then they jump out.

Yep guy I know from another board hit a deer in a group ride, he was right in the middle of the pack and it jumped right out spent a long time recovering physically and eventually got back on a bike...

Had one jump in front of us on the Blue Ridge, lucky I was tooling along slow.

I know its no gurantee but I try to be off the road by dark if I happen to be on a ride thats riding thru forested and mountaineous areas. I figure the deer generally start roaming around at dusk?

However I work 2nd and 3rd shift with a 18-20 minute ride home and lately I been seeing adolesent deer just standing by the side of the road and not moving a muscle...yet,lol.

They seem to be most active around sunrise and sunset. But we have to be on the lookout all the time around here. They like to hang out in the cotton fields and are usually easy to spot.

Our deer are around all day and night. We have become unbelievably over populated with them due to the bleeding hearts that don't want their precious Bambies killed.

Yep we got trees! Pine Barrens, state protected wildlife refuges, federal areas. You guys think you know Long Island. The only thing you know for sure is our effin traffic.

Here is a photo from Greenville Maine. The woman driver walked away with minor injuries. Now this is what I call a DEER!

I know a moose when I see one. The thread was all about deer so I tried to sneak in a very very big one.

During duper storm Sandy I lost 11 trees. My property is 1/3 acre. That is a forest around here!
