I've been riding HD's since 1965 and I'm finally building one. I can't find any information about using an electric start (ok, I'm over 50!) and a kicker on the bike I'm in the process of building. I'll probably end up with an S&S 80" or an Ultima 80"...the shovel's are just too much $$. Does anyone have details of how to use both methods of starting? Oh..and I'll have a four speed tranny (or at least a 5 in a 4 spd case).

as long as the transmission has the kick assy in it, there are a number of aftermarket suppliers that have electric starts for v twins. they even have them for the old tin primarys of the 50's.......

    Thanks!

Thanks...that's the word I needed. Transmissions are not a problem...and you're right, there are plenty starters out there. I appreciate your feedback.

I had a 79 FXEF with both a kicker and electric with a 4 speed. There was a part that just bolted up. I can not remember the manufacturer but it should be an easy change oncce you find it. Or maybe a swap meet?
