Kicker

    Im having a problem with the kicker gear on my 78 shovel the 2 gears seam to be hitting each other any suggestions

    it's been a long time since I did a kicker , but a bushing sounds wore out or the spring is wore out

    Had that problem over the summer with mine. Thought the kicker gear had shed a tooth or something. Does it want to jam when you kick it, too? It turned out that the adjusting screw on the throwout bearing pushrod needed to be adjusted out. Back it out 1 complete turn from bottom out. Forget what the manual says - it's only a guide. Most riders don't turn that screw out enough - but no more than 1 turn!

    If that don't do it, then you may have to take a looksee inside the box . . . :eek:
