Can anyone help me please? I have 1980 KZ650 F-1. I am trying to get the clutch cover off but the clamp boss wont come off. I followed my shop manual to the tee. When I look up kickstarter in the manual it says to "remove the engine and split the crankcase." However in the Clutch and Transmission chapter it states the pedal can be removed prior to engine removal. I can not get the clutch cover off with the clamp boss on and it is really :cussing: making me very  and :confused. Please any advice or help would be most apperciated.

I had a 80 LTD 650 a very very long time ago and wished I could help you. Kinda of confusing when you get two different set of directions out of the same book. I would contact a Kawy dealer or Indy shop.

Small butane torch works better than a lighter but glad you go it off. I had forgot about that and remembered after Cowboy posted it.
