Just finished the book Killing Lincoln. I am enthralled by early American history especially the Civil War years. I really enjoyed this book. What we learned in school and what really was the case around the killing of President Lincoln suprised the heck out of me. If any of you are interested, read the book! ;)

He-hee! I read a lot and I may get a copy. Not too long ago, I read the TRUE stories of Washington, Jefferson & Franklin. Great insight into the revolutionary war.

Yep, it's amazing to find out about our forefathers. Washington really had a tough time of it. The liberals don't want the kids to know (learn) just how Washington and the rest of the early leaders of this country leaned on prayer to God to pull them thru the trials. Another great book is "To Try Men's Souls" by Newyt Ginrich. Amazing fortitude and FAITH. I truly believe that if I were a decision maker or King of USA, I would insist that ALL of American history be taught in schools. REading, writing, arithmatic and ALL of American History. I wish I was more into it when in school.

Yep. All day today my wife has been sheding tears over the work-load she has got thanks to the state tests. She teaches 1st grade and the state tests are making poor students look great and great students look bad. A bunch of bureacrats deciding how and what kids should learn and how the kids should be evaluated. She used to love the job when she only had to teach kids to learn them. Now she has to teach them how to pass state tests. She has to last 5 more years to get her 20 in then we be outta hear.:cussing:

Isn't it interesting how our forefathers placed the ultimate authority in God and were not afraid to say "In God we trust".

Now, some people are pressuring the gov't to remove all references to God. These folks secretly wish to de-stabilize all authority in hopes of causing chaos in the world. Satan loves chaos, and he loves these people.
