    Hi guys, Anybody got an idea why my '09 flhx with 57k mi.on it would seem to have Pre-Ignition knock only when I blip the throttle off of idle??

    Run some seafoam threw a tank or two

    Then git some starbrite Startron from Walley World and keep in it.

    Also have you changed yer fuel filter man..............

    what gear charlie you bliping it under load in high gear just playing with it? if so timing map throws lots of timing at it under accel and if you got shiddy fuel with lots e85 mix in its summer and they dump lots of that crap in there now down south had a car come in running shiddy at the shop this week found 26 percent e85 in the tank he got

    Did some boat work for a dude that retired from driving s tractor trailer delivering gas to service stations
    He said some of the people who owned service stations from the middle east
    Had him to put 87 octane fuel in the 93 octane tanks
    He called his boss and told him what the station owner wanted
    He was instructed to do what the owner wanted
    Might pay attention where you buy yer gas

    Happens in nuetral,no load. Dont notice it when acctually ridin the bike.Just snappin the throttle in nuetral??

    I heard just last night that it is a know fact by Harley that there is trouble with pinging with some 09 and newer bikes,
    don't you have stage 1 or 2 download in your bike? I was told that the local dealer here will not do a download on the new Harleys, don't know why though.

    ohhhh, I see, never thought of that.
    I am not impressed with the tuning abilities of anyone I've seen around here. Most run way rich and get poor fuel mileage.

    had stg 1 dwnld done at 1k mi. this just started 55k later. Seems like spark isnt retarding soon enough. Just knocks coming off idle quickly,only for 1 on 2 seconds in nutral

    They get louder under load when they go or get loose.

    When was the last time you changed plugs the HD SE plugs
    are better than stock and tend to work better with the
    knock sensing system.

    Get a TTS programmer and you can hook it up and do
    data runs it records detonation, spark retard, etc.

    I'd put some octane boost in and get gas at a different place for a while
    might try a tank from a dock, typically they get no ethanol fuel, see if it helps

    Temps are up, hotter, bad fuel, old plugs

    With TTS you can record when riding and see if it's detonation or if it's pulling out timing..
