Haven"t posted for a while been pretty busy with personal life. The qeustion I have is I'm been working on a 97 Softail in my spare time for the last few months. What happened was the inner cam bearing went south and the owner didn't realise it until it was to late. So to make a long story kind of short everything went to hell. The case needed to be repaired, had to replace everything from the crank bearings and rods all the way out. Now for the qeustion I told him I would keep track of my time which I didn't so I sit here and try to remember and I geussed at about 19 hours, does that sound fair time wise, I only charged him $35.00 an hour for my time. Hopefully there is somebody out here that has done something simular to this.

    Thanks in advance Tom

Buy the way she runs better than new.

35 $ is cheap - go ask a HD mech what he would charge and the price for labor will almost double.
Even my indy charges more than 35$ but nowhere what the stealerships do.

I don't beleive in ripping people off. I enjoy working on bikes, my overhead at home is the same weather i'm sitting in front of the TV or doing something constructive. As far as hours go I probably don't work as fast as a pro but then again I don't have to. (The reason for the qeustion):)I tell everybody if your in a hurry for something take it to a dealer. Thanks again for the info. RIDE SAFE
