Rain suit. Mt. Washington Ride to the Sky. I used to live very close, so I can€ help with acommodations. I'm not joking about the rain suit. Prepare to get wet. Yankee Smokehouse at the corner of 25 and 16 going towards Conway. After that, head to Kancamagus Highway.

Never been, maybe this year. They say the cops screw with us about the exhaust and helmets. Sounds like Americade last year here in Lake George ,NY. I know alot of bikers won't be back next year.

Americade has been that way towards Harleys for a long time. I got a ticket for my exhaust in 2002, and I remember working there in 1992 and people complained about it then. One of the HOG regional reps told me that they (Harley) aren't real happy about the discrimination at Americade, but I guess there's just so much you can do - like not go.

Like most rallies, it's an opportunity for financial gain for the hosting city/county/state. They'll measure your handlebars and will check exhaust if they're really bad or you're being exceedingly obnoxious. Tell your girlfriend/wife to keep her shirt on too. Fortunately no helmet law, so there isn't much to mess with there.

Remember Dennis - that all these good people here are telling you what to watch out for, but NONE of them are telling you not to go.

    So my advice is;
    Keep the rubber side down,
    Have a great time,
    Dont' worry about tickets,
And mostly tell us how it went. :D

    Good Luck and be careful!

Check the website for Laconia 2009 bike rally. It will give you places to stay, activities during the week, places to see, the NH motorcycle laws (not that bad considering recent changes in other states) ... etc. Have fun and stay safe!

Diddo on the rain gear. Also if going to Weirs beach on the main weekend be prepared for a long stop and go. Been there when it was real hot (you can get warm weather there. the odds are against you) had to shut the bike down and coast into Weirs. No helmet laws in NH. You just need a helmet getting thru Massachusetts.

    Have fun!!

    Laconia Every year

I head to Laconia every year with my Dad and brothers. There is some awesome riding through the white mountains and kangamangas. The last couple of years have had some real downturns. Boot Hill has closed and so did one other main hangout. WEirs has tried to turn "Family Oriented" so be careful, the cops are at every 25 feet on the weekends.
They also don't care for burnouts. IF you are headed to Weirs "Center of Bikeweek" from laconia or south, after you turn past shaws there is a fork in the road, take the right up the hill. This road is less traveled and will get you to weirs with less trouble. The left is scenic, but busy. There is also the hillclimb on wed. IF you are riding MT Washington Mon and Thur are the best.

Harts turkey farm has great breakfast for good price, near meridith harley.
Mon also has a nice poker run around winnipasakee (110 miles) from the broken antler in Meridth.

And if you can try to hit the POW/MIA Memorial run on THur evening it is awesome. MY dad (vet) and me Current Active Duty go every year.

Bottom Line, Riding Awesome, Bar scene going down hill, vendors average, required equipment -- rain gear, extra socks and boots.

Cottages just across the bridge is the place to be

We stay at the cottages just before crossing the bridge to weirs. Our cabin sleep 7 snug. Shower, kitchen, fire pit every night, walking distance to weirs and best of all between our cabin and my buddies is the Bud Girls!!!! So the woodstock inn is good, but I wouldnt trade out shacks.

Also, free parking at the cabin lot all week for the family and some Friends.
