Let me get this straight......we passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman said he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that admitted they didn’t read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes (and is suing tobacco makers), with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.

What in the hell could possibly go wrong?

And the little O is grinning from ear to ear as his mouth is big enough to touch both ear lobes.

I keep trying to figure out what the bottom line is for me. I can't find it. I see people who are happy because they can't be denied insurance or kids can be insured with their parents until they're 27, but has anyone said how much that insurance is going to cost? That's great! Force me to buy insurance. That solves my problem of not having any. Know why I don't have it? I can't afford to buy it. :wtf: I'm sure the insurance companies will be lowering the cost since they no longer have to appease us.

If a person needs to be on their parents' insurance until he's 27, it's because he can't get it himself - in other words, doesn't have a job. So we're building this plan to allow for the fact that our kids won't be able to support themselves until they're almost in their thirties? I understand this in the case of severe disabilities, but in that case, what's going to change at 27?

I'm terrified at what they'll tell us we can and can't do.

How does anyone see this as a positive thing?

The goverment borrows Student loans for 2% and charges the students 6%.
This is one of the ways they hope to help pay for the Health care plan you voted on.

And where do the students get their money from to get into college in the first place?
    Mom & Dad that's who!
Sounds like a double standard to me.
Maybe Big O will print up some more greenbacks and hand them out to the proud parents, of course then they'll have to raise taxes again to cover all that.
Whatever happened to working for a living and buying what you could afford and putting something you really wanted in layaway until it was paid for.

A lot of people don't have Mom and Dad to pay for college.

They git student loans and work while they are going to college man.

    Cardboard,

I earned a BS Degree while working a full time job during the day and by taking nite classes and busting my A**. If ya want it bad enough ya can find a way to get there. Life ain't easy for none of us, but ya gotta try.

Too many times we are to quick to sympathize and not let our kids help themselves.

Don't mean to sound negative, but i work with high school kids every day and see a lot of attitude and sarcasm about being accountable for one's self. :banghead:

Been makin my own way since i was 16, kids these days don't want to leave home at 30.:angry:

Ya and he's upgrading his out house too - put in a 2 holer with TP holders and got rid of the bushel basket of corn cobs. :roflmao:

My kid is one of those who had a Mom & Dad to help her through - but she went and got a job and paid her own way. I think that a lot of kids today have the attitude that the world owes then instead of the other way around and lot of it is because of the damm liberals that are runnin the country. Free handouts for everybody doesn't go far when it's time to tighten the purse strings. These kids won't have a clue on how to survive in the real world where you work for what you want. And even worst is when they start raising their own. I'm glad I won't be here to see it happen.:(
