    mid to late 70's if i remember correctly.....and my memory sometimes...(well most of the time)......fails me........:)

    texas law requires them on 75 and newer bikes

    I also think it was in the mid 70's as my 73 super glide was not that way & a buddy of mine has a 74 E glide & it's not that way ether so about 75 for all bikes

    Prolly not just Texas law either...I would guess '75 was when they started with the headlight on. If it came from the factory that way(sig lights, headlights on) it gotta stay that way.:devil:

    Not sure if it was '75 for all states... Road a '76 FL Shovelhead in Philly (Philthy). If I turned the ignition one way the lights were on while running, the other way and the lights were out while running. Loved the bike, but bro in law sold it before I could get it!!!:)
