so I put the stage one kit in my carb, got it tuned and running the hell out of it. So today I pulled the plugs and am confused as to what I found.....

Bike has a SE breathe with zippers upgraded filter, V&H short shots and a #48 and #195 jet set up. It runs like a raped ape, no hesitation from take off and good hard pulls through all shifts. Two of my friends say the plugs look normal but I don't believe it cause my other 3 bikes have light brown/tan color to the plugs. Also I changed the plugs when I put the kit in and have put about 150 miles on them. Any thoughts or ideas.

'Can't see the pix of plugs, but if they're a little grayish they're good, just a tad rich(which is what you want). H-D tunes the bike the leanest they can get away with for emisions rules. that's why they're tan at stock settings.

I have almost have a full turn of color on the base ring, heat range shows about middle of the ground strap and the tip of the electrode looks tan. what is strange to me is the porcelain is white and Ive always been told that that means lean. So after being up all night reading every spark plug article I could find I have come to the conclusion I have been reading plugs wrong my whole life and am hoping to hear some other thoughts about plugs.

I would like to add that now that you have a good idea of what plugs are supposed to look like, pull the plugs periodically to keep an eye on them. I pull mine about every 500-1k, just to have a look see. :D
