Was out on a great ride today. Made a gas stop. Went to leave, turned the key, and no power. Come to find the negative terminal screw is hanging by a thread.

After close to an hour, was able to get a 1/2 inch socket to lower the battery mount and tighten the screw.

Later in the day someone recommended I put a small dab of the Blue Loctite on the screw to keep it in place.

Has anyone out there ever done this?

Not sure if it is safe, our could cause problems down the road.

    Thanks
    Phil

My pos screw on the battery came loose on a trip last May and the bike died. Started checking and saw a hot lead that I had that was also connected to the pos. post so knew the battery main lead came loose. The screw had come loose so I tightened it up and back on the road. When I got back home it was again loose so I used some blue loctite and just recently checked it again. The screw is still tight. I've never had a battery post screw come loose before but so far the loctite is working.
