This is a photo of a wasp that is called the Eastern Cicada Killer. The body of this thing is 1 1/8 inches. They dig nests in the ground. They hunt cicadas and bring the cicada to the nest. They then plant eggs into the body of the cicada and when the eggs hatch they have their food. This killer had gotten two in the middle of sex. Apparently they are locked together in death and the two are to heavy to carry back to the nest.
