I need a longer axle for Drew's '94 XLH, because the two new tail light/brake light/ left lic. plate brackets mount on both sides of the axle and it will be short by about 1/2". ('36 Ford assemblies, all black. Check out the product line at dreamweaverprostreetcustom. com. Then call Gary, great builder, great guy.)

If the 1/2" is added to the threaded end, I'm thinking the thickness of the bracket on the right side will draw threads into a bearing. Make sense?

Anybody know who might make a Sportster axle threaded on both ends? Or even the diameter and stock length of unthreaded area, and I can try to have on made.

In advance, thanks. Keep the faith,

folks that sell the wide tire kits will be your best bet, unless ya know a good machine shop. i would do the machineshop route before going to a wide tire place. you can make sure of what your getting, not relying on an ex burger flipper on the other end of the phone..........

I agree with Chuck - surely you've got a machine shop in your area & if so, take the axle you've got & specific measurements as to what it needs to be for the application to the shop & have a new one made. Things like that usually don't cost very much or take very long either.
